1) Kauai Beaches - Are the Best in the Hawaiian Islands !
Let's face it, you go to Kauai for the great beaches and some R&R.
Here are some of our favorites, but do not swim alone or in rough surf. Be Careful.
| Poipu Beaches |
Many Crecent Shaped Beaches are located in the Poipu Area. On the Leeward side of Kauai, Poipu beaches are usually swimmable. Some of the calmest beaches on the island. |
| Mahaulepu Beach |
Actually Three beaches, Kawailoa Bay, Haula Beach & Gillians Beach. Beautiful Area.. Usually not too many people, makes it kind of nice. |
| Coconut Beach |
A big wide beach in the Kapaa area. Sometimes it is windy here and then the surf can kick up. |
| Hideaway Beach |
In the Princeville area of northern Kauai. A beautiful beach to spend the day at. |
2) Horse Back Riding - Ride the back country, see hidden valleys & secluded beaches. A great time! Check out: CMJ Stables near the Hyatt Hotel or Silver Falls Ranch on the North Shore near Princeville.
3) Golf - Kauai has eight championship courses - Princeville (2) , Kauai Lagoons (2) , Poipu Bay, Wailua, Kiahuna Plantation, Kukullolono.
4) Hike - on one of Kauai's many trails. The Napali Coast is home to the Kalalau Trail. A two mile hike will lead you to the Hanakapiai Valley and a beautiful white sand beach. Note: Hiking is strenuous and accidents can happen. Be careful and don't over do it.
5) Windsurf - At Anini Beach you can rent windsurfers. Also for first timers, instructors will show you the basics.
6) Get Dropped Off - There are tour boat companies on the North Shore that will take you by boat to Kalalau Beach and drop you off. You will take a back pack with gear and food and spend the day at the beach with no cars, houses or developments in sight. The Na Pali Cliffs and the secluded beach make this a wonderful experience.
7) Helicopter Tour - See the beauty of Kauai from the air. There are a number of tour companies that will show you breathtaking scenery of hidden valley's, beaches and cliffs.
8) Enjoy a Fine Meal - at one of the many fine restaurants on Kauai. Although Kaui is less populated than some of the other islands, it boast some very fine dining establishments.
9) Rafting on the Wailua River - Explore the rain forest and jungles. Swimming holes, rope swings, cliff diving and waterfalls are all here for you.
10) Movie Tour - Kauai has been the location of many feature motion pictures and TV shows. Some of which you may have seen, Jurrassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Blue Hawaii, King Kong, Fantasy Island and more. Tour the locations and hear the stories about the stars.
