In the Dutch tradition, Holland America Lines designed the Volendam with a floral motif throughout the ship's public rooms and elegant staterooms. Flowers are found in huge vases of arrangements on her public decks and also in unexpected places like her floral pattern fabrics and linens. The Volendam cruise ship accommodates 1,432 guests.
Holland America Lines has made the Volendam a virtual art gallery with pieces of artwork located in the public rooms to compliment the abundant flowers and enhance the interior of this beautiful ship.
The Volendam completed all Holland American Lines "Signature of Excellence" enhancements to her public rooms and staterooms in Fall 2005. One of the centerpeices is that Holland America Lines installed a Culinary Arts Center for passengers aboard the Volendam. This culinary school was designed for the cruise passenger with a passion for cooking. In partnership with Food & Wine magazine, the Culinary Arts Center is the setting for gourmet cooking demonstrations and classes for passengers to participate, learn and best of all.....sample the food.
