In Holland America Lines 130-year history, the Maasdam is the fifth ship to bear the name of that Dutch city. The MS Maasdam featuries an interior design inspired by the historical Dutch East and West India companies of the 17th through 19th centuries. The ship has a warm, elegant feel throughout by combining rich, polished woods and more than $2 million antiques and art throughout. The Maasdam completed a refurbishment of the public rooms and staterooms in Spring 2006. At 720-feet, the Maasdam was designed to carry fewer guests while providing them more space for maximum comfort. Th Maasdam accommodates 1,258 guests.
