Here is a sample Costa Rica vacation:

  • Day 1 - Arrive San Jose, Costa Rica - Transfer to hotel

  • Day 2 - Via Motorcoach to the Caribbean Coast. Then take a boat trip along the densely vegetated Tortugero canals in search of alligators, monkeys and birds. Arrive at the Mawamba Lodge in time for lunch. After lunch visit the turtle research and conservation center. Overnight in Tortugero.

  • Day 3 - All day at Tortugero, including nature tours or optional fishing expeditions. During nesting season you can see turtles laying eggs on the beach and watch newly hatched baby turtles scrambling toward the sea.

  • Day 4 - Transfer via boat from Tortuguero to the Matina Pier where you will board a bus to Guapiles and then transfer to a van for the rest of the trip to Arenal.

  • Day 5 - Arenal Volcano - Leisure day to take optional tours to explore Arenal Volcano.
